75TH CONGRESS, 1ST SESSION-CH . 404-JUNE 29, 1937 WOOL MARKE TING STUD IES Not to exceed $50,000 of the funds collected from persons, firms, or corporations which handled any part of the wool clip of 1918, which the Secretary of Agriculture finds it impracticable to dis- tribute among woolgrowers, shall be deposited in the Treasury to the credit of a special fund which is hereby appropriated for the fiscal year 1938 for the purpose of carrying into effect the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to authorize the appropriation for use by th e Secr etary of Agr icultu re of certain funds for w ool st andard s, and for other purposes", approved May 17, 1928 (U . S . C ., title 7, sets. 415b 4 15d), including personal services and other necessary expenses in the District of Columbia and elsewhere . Total, Bureau of Agricultural Economics, $6,212,698, of which amount not to exceed $2,223,469 may be expended for personal serv- ices in the Distr ict of Colum bia, a nd not to exc eed $3 0,300 shall be available for the purchase of motor-propelled and horse-drawn pas- senger-carrying vehicles necessary in the conduct of field work outside the District of Columbia . BUREAU OF HO ME ECO NOMI CS SALARIES AND EXPENSES General administrative expenses : For necessary expenses for gen- eral administrative purposes, including the salary of Chief of Bureau and other personal services in the District of Columbia, $31,735 . Home economics investigations : For conducting either independ- ently or in cooperation with other agencies, investigations of the relative utility and economy of agricultural products for food, cloth- ing, and other uses in the home, with special suggestions of plans and methods for the more effective utilization of such products for these purposes, and for disseminating useful information on this subject, inclu ding t ravel and al l othe r nece ssary e xpense s, $21 3,350 . Total, Bureau of Home Economics, $245,085, of which amount not to exceed $223,280 may be expended for personal services in the District of Columbia . ENFORCEMENT OF THE COMMODITY EXCHANGE ACT To enable the Secretary of Agriculture to carry into effect the prov isio ns of the Grai n Fut ures Act, appr oved Septe mber 21, 1922 (U. S. C., title 7, sets. 1-17), as amended by the Commodity Exchange Act of June 15, 1936 (U . S. C., Supp. II, title 7, sees. 1-17a), $500,000, to be immediately available, of which amount not to exceed $190,000 may be expended for personal services in the District of Columbia .
