Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the Act approved April 11, 1936 (49 Stat. 1202), to amend the Act entitled "An Ac t to provi de for the constructi on of cert ain public buildings , and for other purposes", approved May 25, 1926, authorizing and empowe ring the S ecretary o f the Treas ury to dis pose of th e old post - office budding a nd to sell all of the site ther eor at Oak land, Cali - fornia, is hereby amended by canceling the second sentence thereof and substituting the Following : "Th e Secre tary of the T reasury is hereby further authorized to sell the old post-office site situated at Broadway, Seventeenth, and Franklin Streets, in Oakland, Cali- fornia , at such time, for such price, and upon such terms and condi - tions as he may deem to be to the best interest of the United States, and to convey such property to the 'purchaser thereof by the usual quitclaim deed the proceeds of said sale to be covered into the Treasury as miscellaneous receipts : Provided, That nothing herein shall prevent the Secretary of the Treasury from favorably consid- ering an application of the city of Oakland for the conveyance to said city of such portion or portions of the site as the Secretary may agree are necessary for street-widening purposes in accordance with the pr ovisions o f public A ct approved August 26 , 1935 (49 Stat . 80 0 ; U.
