BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION WHEREAS a Convention between the United States of America and the United Mexican States defining the duties, rights, privileges, exemptions, and immunities of the consular officers of each country in the territory of the other country was concluded and signed by their respective Plenipotentiaries in the city of Mexico on the twelfth day of August, one thousand nine hundred forty-two, the original of which Convention, being in the English and Spanish languages, is word for word as follows: CONSULAR CONVENTION BE- TWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES. The President of the United States of America and the Presi- dent of the United Mexican States, being desirous of defining the duties, rights, privileges, exemp- tions and immunities of consular officers of each country in the territory of the other country, have decided to conclude a con- vention for that purpose and have appointed as their plenipoten- tiaries: The President of the United States of America: George S. Messersmith, Am- bassador Extraordinary and Pleni- potentiary of the United States of America in Mexico, and The President of the United Mexican States: CONVENCION CONSULAR ENTRE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE AMERICA Y LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. El Presidente de los Estados Unidos de America y el Presi- dente de los Estados Unidos Mexi- canos, deseando definir las obli- gaciones, derechos, privilegios, exenciones e inmunidades de los Funcionarios Consulares de cada pais en el territorio del otro, han resuelto celebrar una Convenci6n para dicho fin y han nombrado como sus Plenipotenciarios: El Presidente de los Estados Unidos de America: Al Sefior George S. Messersmith, Embajador Extraordinario y Pleni- potenciario de los Estados Unidos de America en Mexico, y El Presidente de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos: Plenipotentiaries. 800 TREATIES
