August 10, 1949 [S. 755 [Public Law 217] order, regulation, or other action which vested functions in or other- wise related to any officer, department, or establishment, shall be deemed to have vested such function in or relate to the officer or depart- ment, executive or military, succeeding the officer, department, or establishment in which such function was vested. For purposes of this subsection the Department of Defense shall be deemed the depart- ment succeeding the National Military Establishment, and the mili- tary departments of Army, Navy, and Air Force shall be deemed the departments succeeding the Executive Departments of Army, Navy, and Air Force. (h) Section 208 (e) of the National Security Act of 1947 is amended by substituting the word "three" for the word "two" appearing therein. (i) Reorganization Plan Numbered 8 of 1949, which was trans- mitted to the Congress by the President on July 18, 1949, pursuant to the provisions of the Reorganization Act of 1949, shall not take effect, notwithstanding the provisions of section 6 of such Reorganization Act of 1949. [CHAPTER 414] AN ACT To provide for the conveyance of a tract of land in Prince Georges County, Maryland, to the State of Maryland for use as a site for a National Guard armory and for training the National Guard or for other military purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Public Housing Commissioner is authorized and directed to convey by quit- claim deed, without consideration, to the State of Maryland, for use as a site for a National Guard Armory, a tract of land in Prince Georges County, Maryland, described as follows: Beginning at a con- crete monument on the north right-of-way line of Southway-a road within the corporate limits of the town of Greenbelt, Prince Georges County, Maryland-the plane coordinates of the said beginning point being north thirty-eight thousand five hundred and seventy-six and 592 [63 STAT.
