MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 3 – 2022

Ordinance Adopting “Baley Kon Nianakan” as the Official Municipal Hymn of the Municipality of Urbiztondo, Pangasinan WHEREAS, Section 16 of RA NO. 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 mandates Local Government Units to ensure and support among other purposes the enrichment and preservation of culture;
WHEREAS, it is the thrust of the Municipal Government of Urbiztondo to inculcate among its people the sense of self-esteem and pride of being residents of Urbiztondo. The crafting of the Urbiztondo Hymn and integrating thereto our history and culture will indeed ensure, preserve and strengthen our identity as Urbiztondonians. Hymns are patriotic symbols that embody our history, struggles, trials, and triumphs that give inspiration to people and sense of belongingness to one’s land;
WHEREAS, anent to its being a Public Corporation under Section 22 of Local Government Code, the LGU can adapt a local hymn to become its resounding symbol of unity , pride and identity.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Sangguniang Bayan of Urbiztondo that:
Section 1. Title. This Ordinance shall be known as “Urbiztondo Hymn”.
Sec. 2. Purpose.
a. To have official hymn that shall provide unique sense of identity for the Municipality, distinct from other Local Government Units.
b. To promote and preserve rich history, culture and traditions of the Municipality of Urbiztondo and its people through the Urbiztondo Hymn.
