BARNES, Eleanor Margaret (Miss), born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, October 26, 1898, daughter of James Madison and Catherine O'Connor Barnes, a resident of California since 1900. Drama Editor, Illustrated Daily News. Educated at Polytechnic High School. Was for nine years a feature writer for the Los Angeles Record. Handled "writing features" for First National Pictures for two years. Wrote syndicate articles for a time, and contributed to magazines and periodicals. Member: Chevy Chase Golf Club. BARNETT, Alice (Mrs. G. R. Stevenson), born May 26, 1886, in Lewiston, Illinois, daughter of Orrin and Alta Shope Barnett, a resident of California for seventeen years. Married to Dr. George Roy Stevenson. Children: Hubert Price, Eugene Price. Composer, Received musical education first from her father, then in Chicago and in Germany. Taught Music Appreciation, Theory and Harmony in San Diego High School for eight years. Has written chiefly songs, thirty-four of them published by G. Schirmer, others by Ditson Music Co., etc. Songs are sung by well known artists such as Graveure, Werrenrath, McCormack, Braslau, etc..
