Title 18, Sections 1028A(a)(1) and 2[edit]

The reference to "Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1028A(a)(1)" refers to laws or regulations on identification documents, according to this source: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1028.

According to that source, (a)(1) identifies the person to be punished as one who "knowingly and without lawful authority produces an identification document, authentication feature, or a false identification document"

The reference to 2 may actually mean (a)(2) which would mean it refers to whoever: "knowingly transfers an identification document, authentication feature, or a false identification document knowing that such document or feature was stolen or produced without lawful authority."

Further clarification or correction would be welcome. -- econterms (talk)
