• Should "thresh-/hold" be "thresh-hold", "threshhold", or "threshold"? There are a few instances in other issues of this magazine of "threshhold", but many more of "threshold", and none that I can find of "thresh-hold".
• Should "where-/ever" be "wherever"?

Chapter 17

In chapter 17, the conversation is printed as:

• “[…] consider well what you are about: you eat corporation-bread, and it may be taken from you; that’s my business.”
• “O, ho! very well.”
• “I have given you fair warning […]”

should it be:

• “[…] consider well what you are about: you eat corporation-bread, and it may be taken from you[.]”
• “[T]hat’s my business.”
• “O, ho! very well. I have given you fair warning […]”

The original German is:

• „Wenn Er die Verantwortung auf sich nehmen will!” sagte sie. „Aber bedenke Er wohl, Er ist Stadtsoldat; Er kann fortgejagt werden.”
• „Meine Sorge!”
• „Gut” fagte die Alte, „schön, schlage Er immer die Warnung in den Wind; ich mag nicht in der Nähe bleiben, wenn das Donnerwetter losgeht.”

This seems much closer to the second. It could easily have been from the printer's compositor having difficulty reading the manuscript version. --Yodin^T 11:44, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Chapter 22

Near the start of the chapter is an unclosed quote:

• “At eleven o’clock, in the forest-house; but without mentioning any thing of what has passed. The addressed person recollected then to have seen the speaker’s face among the attendants at the ball-room: and, after having rewarded him in proportion to the importance of the news he imparted, he continued his road in high glee.

Comparing to the original German, it looks like the full quote is: “At eleven o’clock, in the forest-house; but without mentioning any thing of what has passed.” --Yodin^T 12:41, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
