Grover Cleveland Lindauer (1885-1968) was born as Grover Dunne. He lived in Teaneck, New Jersey and worked as a salesman in magazine advertising. In 1915 he was the representative for the Allied Printing Trades Council of New York State. He is sometimes referred to as "G. C. Lindauer". (b. His funeral notice. "Funeral services will be Monday for Grover C. Lindauer of 509 Queen Anne Road, who died at his home yesterday. Mr. Lindauer, a native of Rye, New York, lived in Teaneck for 39 years. He is survived by his widow, Norma; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys L. Hecht of Lyncroft [sic]; and two grandchildren. Services will be at the Volk Funeral Home, 789. Teaneck Road, at 1 p.m."
His second marriage. "Mrs. A. B. Sickles [sic] of Niagara Falls, New York announces the marriage of her daughter, Norma Hilgerman, to Grover C. Lindauer, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grover C. Lindauer [sic] of Teaneck. The ceremony was performed on Thursday at parsonage of the Teaneck Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Waldron officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Heebbard [sic] of Paramus were attendants. A reception was given the home and a dinner was held at the Hans Christian Anderson Tea Room immediately following the ceremony. The couple are living at 509 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck."
Speeding. "Lawrence B. Leary of 155 Rockwood Place, Englewood, charged by Dorfman with driving at 60 miles an hour, paid an $8 fine and $2 costs; and Grover C. Lindauer of 507 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck, was fined $7 and $2 costs after admitting a speed of 55 miles an hour charged by Inspector Boyle."
He loses his driver's license for 2 years for driving under the influence. "Grover C. Lindauer, 508 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck, was fined $200, assessed $22 costs, and deprived of his license for two years when found guilty of a drunk driving charge before Bogota Recorder A. August Belmonte last night."
Driving under the influence. "A wad of chewing tobacco and its presence in or absence from the mouth of Grover C. Lindauer, 509 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck, at 7 o'clock on the night of August 5, may prove the decisive factor in a drunk driving case against him."
Driving under the influence. "Grover C. Lindauer, 509 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck, was free on $500 bail today, charged with drunken driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to stop for an officer following Lindauer's arrest last night by Bogota Acting Police Chief Hugh McCracken."
Marriage of his daughter. "Miss Gladys Stanley Lindauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Lindauer, of Teaneck, was married yesterday afternoon to Rudolph Hecht, son of Mrs. Mary Hecht, of Haledon."
He causes another auto accident. "Edwards, who resides at 36 Shepard avenue, Teaneck, was cut off while proceeding south by Grover Lindauer of 509 Queen Anne, Teaneck, and was forced in front of the car driven by a Ridgefield man, Henry Kircholt, of 908 Lancaster Road."
He fails to stop at a stop sign, causing an auto accident. "A car driven by Grover Lindauer, of 509 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck, was going north on Palisade avenue and without making a stop at the stop sign, it is said, proceeded into the intersection. At the same time a car driven by Miss Ethel Burgess, of 328 Morningside Terrace, Teaneck, was going east on Fort Lee Road, and despite the efforts of Miss Burgess to apply her brakes and avoid a collision, her car rammed the Lindauer car."
As a representative of The New York State Federation of Labor. "Grover C. Lindauer of the Federation is in Buffalo, New York in the interest of the publication of the State body …"
"Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Lindauer, and their little new daughter, Miss Gladys, of West New York, will leave the first of October for Utica, New York, where they will make their future home."
"G. C. Lindauer, of New York City, representing the Allied Printing Trades Council of New York state, is in the city preparing for the annual state convention of the council, which will be held here the week beginning July 19."
