| In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Merciful. | Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi | |
| 068:001 | N, the pen, and what they write. | Noon waalqalami wama yasturoona |
| 068:002 | You are not, by the blessing of your Lord, a madman. | Ma anta biniAAmati rabbika bimajnoonin |
| 068:003 | And you will have a reward that is well deserved. | Wa-inna laka laajran ghayra mamnoonin |
| 068:004 | And you are of a high moral character. | Wa-innaka laAAala khuluqin AAatheemin |
| 068:005 | So you will see, and they will see. | Fasatubsiru wayubsiroona |
| 068:006 | Which of you are condemned. | Bi-ayyikumu almaftoonu |
| 068:007 | Your Lord is fully aware of those who strayed off His path, and He is fully aware of those who are guided. | Inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena |
| 068:008 | So do not obey those who deny. | Fala tutiAAi almukaththibeena |
| 068:009 | They wish that you compromise, so they too can compromise. | Waddoo law tudhinu fayudhinoona |
| 068:010 | And do not obey every lowly swearer. | Wala tutiAA kulla hallafin maheenin |
| 068:011 | A slanderer, a backbiter. | Hammazin mashsha-in binameemin |
| 068:012 | Forbidder of charity, a transgressor, a sinner. | MannaAAin lilkhayri muAAtadin atheemin |
| 068:013 | Unappreciative, and greedy. | AAutullin baAAda thalika zaneemin |
| 068:014 | Because he possessed money and children. | An kana tha malin wabaneena |
| 068:015 | When Our revelations are recited to him, he says: "Tales from the past!" | Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru al-awwaleena |
| 068:016 | We will mark him on the path. | Sanasimuhu AAala alkhurtoomi |
| 068:017 | We have tested them like We tested those who owned the paradise, when they swore that they will harvest it in the morning. | Inna balawnahum kama balawna as-haba aljannati ith aqsamoo layasrimunnaha musbiheena |
| 068:018 | They were without doubt. | Wala yastathnoona |
| 068:019 | So a passing sent from your Lord came to it while they all were asleep. | Fatafa AAalayha ta-ifun min rabbika wahum na-imoona |
| 068:020 | Thus, it became barren. | Faasbahat kaalssareemi |
| 068:021 | They called on one another when they awoke. | Fatanadaw musbiheena |
| 068:022 | "Let us go this morning to harvest the crop." | Ani ighdoo AAala harthikum in kuntum sarimeena |
| 068:023 | So they went, while conversing. | Faintalaqoo wahum yatakhafatoona |
| 068:024 | That from today, none of them would ever be poor. | An la yadkhulannaha alyawma AAalaykum miskeenun |
| 068:025 | And they went, ready to harvest. | Waghadaw AAala hardin qadireena |
| 068:026 | But when they saw it, they said: "We have gone astray!" | Falamma raawha qaloo inna ladalloona |
| 068:027 | "Now, we have nothing!" | Bal nahnu mahroomoona |
| 068:028 | The best among them said: "If only you had glorified!" | Qala awsatuhum alam aqul lakum lawla tusabbihoona |
| 068:029 | They said: "Glory be to our Lord. We have transgressed." | Qaloo subhana rabbina inna kunna thalimeena |
| 068:030 | Then they started to blame each other. | Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatalawamoona |
| 068:031 | They said: "Woe to us. We sinned." | Qaloo ya waylana inna kunna tagheena |
| 068:032 | "Perhaps our Lord will grant us better than it. We repent to our Lord." | AAasa rabbuna an yubdilana khayran minha inna ila rabbina raghiboona |
| 068:033 | Such was the punishment. But the retribution of the Hereafter is far worse, if they only knew. | Kathalika alAAathabu walaAAathabu al-akhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona |

| 068:034 | The righteous have deserved, at their Lord, gardens of bliss. | Inna lilmuttaqeena AAinda rabbihim jannati alnnaAAeemi |
| 068:035 | Should We treat the ones who surrendered the same as those who are criminals? | AfanajAAalu almuslimeena kaalmujrimeena |
| 068:036 | What is wrong with you, how do you judge? | Ma lakum kayfa tahkumoona |
| 068:037 | Or do you have another book which you study? | Am lakum kitabun feehi tadrusoona |
| 068:038 | In it, you can find what you wish? | Inna lakum feehi lama takhayyaroona |
| 068:039 | Or do you have an oath from Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that you can judge as you please? | Am lakum aymanun AAalayna balighatun ila yawmi alqiyamati inna lakum lama tahkumoona |
| 068:040 | Ask them: "Who of them will make such a claim?" | Salhum ayyuhum bithalika zaAAeemun |
| 068:041 | Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they are truthful. | Am lahum shurakao falya/too bishuraka-ihim in kanoo sadiqeena |
| 068:042 | The Day will come when they will be exposed, and they will be required to prostrate, but they will be unable to. | Yawma yukshafu AAan saqin wayudAAawna ila alssujoodi fala yastateeAAoona |
| 068:043 | With their eyes subdued, humiliation will cover them. They were invited to prostrate when they were whole and able. | KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun waqad kanoo yudAAawna ila alssujoodi wahum salimoona |
| 068:044 | Therefore, let Me deal with those who reject this narration; We will entice them from where they do not perceive. | Fatharnee waman yukaththibu bihatha alhadeethi sanastadrijuhum min haythu la yaAAlamoona |
| 068:045 | And I will lead them on; for My scheming is formidable. | Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateenun |
| 068:046 | Or did you ask them for a wage, so they are burdened by the fine? | Am tas-aluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muthqaloona |
| 068:047 | Or do they know the future? So they have it recorded? | Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboona |
| 068:048 | You shall be patient for the judgement of your Lord. And do not be like he who called from inside the whale while he was in sorrow. | Faisbir lihukmi rabbika wala takun kasahibi alhooti ith nada wahuwa makthoomun |
| 068:049 | Had it not been for his Lord's grace, he would have remained trapped, while he was to be blamed. | Lawla an tadarakahu niAAmatun min rabbihi lanubitha bialAAara-i wahuwa mathmoomun |
| 068:050 | But his Lord blessed him, and made him righteous. | Faijtabahu rabbuhu fajaAAalahu mina alssaliheena |
| 068:051 | And those who have rejected almost attack you with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they Say: "He is crazy!" | Wa-in yakadu allatheena kafaroo layuzliqoonaka bi-absarihim lamma samiAAoo alththikra wayaqooloona innahu lamajnoonun |
| 068:052 | It is but a reminder for the worlds. | Wama huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena |
