Duplication of texts in other projects[edit]

See also project Index:United States Statutes at Large Volume 8.djvu, starting at page 592, Page:United States Statutes at Large Volume 8.djvu/604. This is the very same treaty in another printing. Some departures from this project are noted, such as merchandise/merchandize, capitalization of words like 'treaty', and probably also punctuation differences, and formatting of the tariffs table. Still, this project's text, once validated, should be used as a starting point for those pages of Index:United States Statutes at Large Volume 8.djvu, pages 592 - 605. Oh, uh, and also Index:United States Statutes at Large Volume 18 Part 2c.djvu, pages 116 through 128.

And also, project Treaty of Tien-Tsin between the United States of America and the Empire of China seems to duplicate the 1858 Index:United States Statutes at Large Volume 18 Part 2c.djvu pages 129 through 137

Wait, and *also* starting page 1023 in Index:United States Statutes at Large Volume 12.djvu as a 'proclamation'??

And there is *likely* more such instances.

Somebody needs to warn not only about the duplication of texts between projects involving treaties, but also duplications *within* the United States Statutes at Large. These are long stretches of text that could potentially soak up hours of contributor time, merely to find out that time was wasted. Shenme (talk) 23:16, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
