Page namespace[edit]

This template doesn't work when used in page namespace and transcluded into main namespace. It uses PAGENAME magic word which doesn't stay the same in the transclusion from page to main. Prosody (talk) 04:10, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Someone really should develop something that always yields the page title of location of the transclusion. I believe this can now be done with Lua-based Scribunto modules. —Uzume (talk) 17:24, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting (direction, fonts)[edit]

It would be nice if the language parameter could also trigger formatting appropriate to the language. For instance:

  • Right-to-left languages: If the language code is "ar" (Arabic), "he" (Hebrew), "fa" (Persian), etc., then the text direction will be left to right (dir="rtl").
  • Non-English text is not always shown aesthetically in the standard font, especially when there are diacritical marks. Perhaps the language code could also trigger the kinds of fonts shown in Template:Ar, Template:He, etc.

For an example of how such pages currently appear (without formatting) see for instance here here. The text direction is short (inappropriately) left-to-right, and the standard font does not do a reasonable job in terms of presenting the text clearly and correctly.
