CEL′ADON (Lat., from Gk. Κελαδών, Keladōn). The Romeo of French classic drama and the Corydon of the English bucolic. In particular: (1) The hero of d’Urfé's Astrée. (2) A rural character in Thomson's Seasons. (3) A fickle gallant in Dryden's Secret Love.
