The House of Atreus is a translation of The Oresteia, a trilogy of Greek tragedies written by Aeschylus, which concerns the end of the curse on the House of Atreus. It is the only surviving example of a trilogy of ancient Greek plays. The Oresteia was originally performed at the Dionysia festival in Athens in 458 BCE, although the original performance was followed by a satyr-play, Proteus, which has not survived.

The text presented here is from the first edition of The House of Atreus printed in 1881. The second edition of 1889 is also available.
