Educ. at Brussels, Clongowes Wood College, and Trinity College, Dublin; served in 16th Lancers, King's African Rifles, and Royal Dublin Fusiliers; served in Uganda Mutiny, 1897; South African War, 1900; European War, 1914-19 Comd. 1st Batt Herefordshire Regt., and subsequently 1st Batt. Royal Dublin Fus. in France, 1918; Chief of Police St. Vincent and Grenada, W. Indies, 1913; Resident Magistrate in Ireland from 1914; son of late Austin Meldon, D.L., of Merrion Square, Dublin; b. 13th July, 1869. Res.: Rossraailley, Westport, Co. Mayo.
