Prajadhipok R

Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramin Maha Prajadhipok Phra Pok Klao Chaoyuhua gives a great royal command by which He declares to all that it be announced for general information as follows:

Whereas the House of People’s Representatives has presented Him with the following advice: After the Cabinet which had Second-Class High Courtier Phraya Manopakonnitithada as the Premier advised Him to announce, and countersigned, the royal decree dated 1 April 2476 Buddhist Era for prorogation of the House of People’s Representatives and suspension of the application of certain sections of the Constitution without relying upon any constitutional power, thereby causing deterioration to the sanctity of the Constitution, the new Prime Minister, Colonel Phraya Phahonphonphayuhasena, together with a party of army officers, naval officers, and civilians, had to arrange for the former Cabinet to resign so as to pave the way for Him to grant the opening of the House of People’s Representatives, and the President of the House of People’s Representatives, First-Class High Courtier Chaophraya Phichaiyat, had to arrange for the successful opening of the House in accordance with the request of Colonel Phraya Phahonphonphayuhasena and Members [of the House] which sought the opening of the House of People’s Representatives pursuant to section 32 of the Constitution.

Now that the opening of an extraordinary session of the House of People’s Representatives has been granted and activities have been carried out in accordance with the Constitution completely, it is appropriate to repeal the royal decree dated 1 April 2476 Buddhist Era which prorogued the House of People’s Representatives.

Therefore, He permits, by and with the advice and consent of the House of People’s Representatives, the enactment of the following Act:

Section1.This Act shall be called the Act for Repeal of the Royal Decree Proroguing the House of People’s Representatives Dated 1 April 2476 Buddhist Era.

Section2.This Act shall come into force from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Section3.The royal decree dated 1 April 2476 Buddhist Era which prorogued the House of People’s Representatives shall be repealed.

Section4.The other laws and ordinances promulgated since that day until now shall continue to be in force until different provisions are in place in accordance with the constitutional process.

Announced on the 27th day of June 2476 Buddhist Era, being the 9th year of the present reign.
