Announcement

Whereas King Ananda Mahidol has ascended to heaven on the 9th day of June 2489 Buddhist Era;

Whereas, according to section 9 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, succession to the royal throne shall be governed by the gist of the Palace Law on Succession, 2467 Buddhist Era, in conjunction with the approval of the National Assembly;

Whereas His Royal Highness Prince Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Royal Younger Brother, is a prince of royal blood sharing the same mother as the King according to the disposition of section 9(8) of the Palace Law on Succession, 2467 Buddhist Era;

Whereas the National Assembly has passed a resolution this 9th day of June 2489 Buddhist Era to express its unanimous approval for inviting His Royal Highness Prince Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Royal Younger Brother, to ascend to the throne to further continue the royal line in line with the disposition of section 9 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand;

It is therefore announced for general information that His Royal Highness Prince Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Royal Younger Brother, has ascended to the throne to continue the royal line as King from this 9th day of June 2489 Buddhist Era on.
