Being the 7th year of the present reign
Whereas the House of Representatives has passed a resolution that it is appropriate to change the calendar years so that they suit the time and age as well as the ancient tradition of Thailand;
Therefore, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives, a Great Royal Command is given that the following Act be enacted:
Section1.This Act shall be called the Calendar Years Act, 2483 Buddhist Era
Section2.This Act shall enter into operation upon passage of a period of thirty days from the date of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.
Section3.The parts of the provisions of other laws, statutes, and rules which have already been incorporated into this Act or which are repugnant to this Act shall all be repealed.
Section4.A calendar year shall last for a period of twelve months, starting on the 1st day of January and ending on the 31st day of December.
The year called 2483 Buddhist Era shall end on the coming 31st day of December, and the year called 2484 Buddhist Era shall start on the 1st day of January that is to follow.
Section5.The calendar years designated in accordance with the dispositions of section 4 do not affect the age of a person or a time period which has been designated by or needs to be calculated in accordance with a law or juristic act promulgated or done prior to the date of entry into operation of this Act.
Section6.All the money which the public sector has to pay in each year that starts on the 1st day of April and which is paid in advance shall, if already paid in full for the year 2483 Buddhist Era prior to the entry into operation of this Act, be deemed to have been paid up to the end of March 2484 Buddhist Era. As for the remaining months of the year 2484 Buddhist Era that are to follow, the competent officials shall only pay the money for nine months, after which the payment shall be made in accordance with the calendar years.
In the event that the money is not to be paid in advance or the advance payment thereof is not to be made for a full year, the competent officials shall calculate and pay for only nine months the money that is to be paid for the year 2483 Buddhist Era, and this shall be deemed concluded for the year 2483 Buddhist Era. The next payments shall be calculated and made from the 1st day of January 2484 Buddhist Era and shall be made in accordance with the calendar years.
Section7.As for all the taxes, duties, or fees of whatever kind, which have been scheduled to be paid in the year that starts on the 1st day of April 2483 Buddhist Era, the competent officials shall collect them in the full twelve-month amount.
As for the taxes, duties, or fees which are required to be paid in the year 2484 Buddhist Era, the competent officials shall only collect three fourths of the whole-year amount.
Section8.The payment of any taxes, duties, or fees in addition to those provided in section 7 shall be made in accordance with the law thereon.
Section9.It shall be the duty of the Prime Minister to secure the implementation of this Act.

The principle of this Calendar Years Act, 2483 Buddhist Era, is to designate a new calendar year which lasts for twelve months, starting on the 1st day of January and ending on the 31st day of December, so that it suit the time and age as well as the ancient custom of Thailand.
