Prayer 34

Prayer of incense

3807136Mandaïsche Liturgien — Prayer 341920Mark Lidzbarski
XXXIV.
Yes, for the first life, before which no one was,
the alien one from the worlds of light,
the sublime one that is above all works,
the ancient splendor, the great first light,
the life that came from life,
the Kuštā that has been at the beginning from time immemorial.
Yes, for the father of the Uthras,
the ancient, high, hidden, kept.
Yes, for Jōzaṭaq Mandā d-Haijē,
the fountain of life,
who shows silence and grants hope,
who keeps the prayers of the spirits and souls in the place of life.
Yes, for the life of the true believing men
who have completed and passed out of their bodies
and who still dwell in their bodies.
Before them may the gate of sins be closed
and the gate of light be opened to them.
May they participate in the connection with life
for which there is no separation.
Pray for us from there,
and we will pray for you from here.
All fruits come to an end and all fragrances pass away,
but not the fragrance of the Mandā d-Haijē,
which does not come to an end
and does not pass away in all ages and all eternity.
May the souls of this ascent rise without sins, transgressions, stumbles and errors,
and behold the place of light and the shining abode.
And praised be the life.
