603:1[edit]Even one who is not careful about [avoiding] non-Jewish bread needs to be careful during the Ten Days of Repentance. Rem"a: Each person should search and introspect on their actions and repent on them during the Ten Days of Repentance. A sin of questionable nature needs more repentance than a certain sin because one has more regret when they know that they did something versus when they do not know. That is why the asham talui was required to be more valuable than a sin offering (himself and Rabbeinu Yonah at the beginning of Berachot). |
