Chap. V.An Act making appropriations for certain arrearages in the naval service for the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine.

Appropriations for arrearages in naval service, for 1829.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums be, and they are hereby, appropriated, to be paid out of any unappropriated money in the treasury, for certain arrearages in the naval service, for the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine, viz:

Pay and subsistence, &c.For pay and subsistence of officers, and pay of seamen, other than those at navy yards, shore stations, and in ordinary, one hundred and thirty-six thousand nine hundred and twenty-two dollars and sixty-one cents.

Repairs, and wear and tear.For repair of vessels in ordinary, and for wear and tear of vessels in commission, eighty-two thousand eight hundred and forty dollars and eighty-eight cents.

Contingent expenses.For contingent expenses in the naval service, thirty thousand three hundred and ninety-one dollars and sixty-nine cents.

Superintendents, naval constructors, &c.For pay of superintendents, naval constructor, and all the civil establishment at the yards and stations, three hundred and ninety-two dollars and seven cents.

Medicines, &c.For medicines, surgical instruments, and hospital stores, two thousand two hundred and six dollars and fifty cents.

Marine corps.For pay and subsistence of the marine corps, sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty-seven dollars and ten cents.
