• The Council of Europe has passed the Additional Protocol to the Convention on Cybercrime, which prohibits online activity which "denies, grossly minimises, approves or justifies acts constituting genocide or crimes against humanity". This may include a work such as Churchill's 1919 War Office Memorandum.
• Under Section 58 of the British Terrorism Act, it is a crime for a person to collect, make or possess "a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism", without any need to prove intent or malice. This may include a work such as Minimanual Of The Urban Guerrilla or The Freedom Fighter's Manual.
• The Canadian Criminal Code Section 163 considers texts which "advocate...sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years" to encompass the definition of "child pornography". This may include a work such as Romeo and Juliet or Justine.
• The Smith Act in the United States makes it a crime to "publish...or publicly display any written or printed matter advocating...overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence". This may include a work such as Industrial Society and Its Future.
