Welcome
Welcome :-)
Do you have any particular interest in Wikisource?
Our topical indexes are kept in the "Wikisource" namespace, such as Portal:Australia. There are plans to feature Australian content for Australia Day. If you know of any relevant material that might be of use, like poems, essay or speeches, mention them on Portal talk:Australia or add them.
If you are interested in proof-reading what we have, each page has a "Text advancement" status. When in edit mode, there is the ability to select 25% (Incomplete), 50% (Not formatted), 75% (Complete and formatted) or 100% (Proofread). The later is reserved for when the page has been verified to be exactly the text that is on the accompanying image. Sadly, we do not have many pages that have accompanying scans, so our pages are not a very high quality. The German project now refuses to accept new content that does not have scans.
If you are interested in uploading scans, we prefer that they are uploaded onto the commons project, and DJVU files are better than many images of each page. We have a bot that with automatically OCR pages, but it only works well if the page is comprised of a single column.
Our village pump is the central discussion area here, and can be found at WS:S. Deletions are at WS:PD, and copyvios are at WS:COPYVIO. There is very little discussion that occurs besides those three pages. As this wiki is not as crazy busy as Wikipedia, we all watch Special:Recentchanges. We have "revision patrolling" enabled, which means every single diff needs to be approved.

- Thanks I just came here after this discussion on the English Wikipedia. Is that kind of mixup between people with the same name common here? That was the first major mistake that I'd found on Wikisource! I hope I've fixed it OK. Would you be able to speedy delete A Short Biographical Dictionary of English Literature/Butler, Samuel (theologian)? Thanks. Graham87 (talk) 14:49, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- The text for those pages was, iirc, a gutenberg etext and it was uploaded by yours truly (user:JVbot) I am pretty sure that the disambiguation on those page names was done in accordance with the printed, original text; or, what Project Gutenberg published as the etext.
- On Wikisource, we stick true to the original, even if it contain errors. Errors can be noted at the top of the page, or a disclaimer such as Appletons' Cyclopædia of American Biography/Project Disclaimer.
- I'd need to get the pagescans for SBDEL in order to properly determine whether your solution is correct. In the meantime, your solution is at least sensible. John Vandenberg (chat) 15:10, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hmmm, The writer whose page was formerly at "Butler, Samuel (theologian)" did dabble in theology according to Wikipedia, but it isn't mentioned in the biographical dictionary entry. But they both composed satire, but "Butler, Samuel (satirist)" was more famous for it. I just tried to reorganise the nav links for the two John Forsters to put them in alphabetical order, and then before I found your message, I discovered that they were out of order originally in the original PG text for some bizarre reason. - Hi Graham. I checked the scan of the print version, they put it in that order: Forster, Fortescue, Forster. The second John Forster is actually a misspelling of w:John Foster (essayist), so it is in the right place after all. Nice work noticing that. CYGNIS INSIGNIS 16:05, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Australian poetry
Hey, as I believe you are an Australian, I thought I would direct you to Portal:Australian poetry both to help fill out the collection, maintain and clean up the index, and for your own possible interest. Sherurcij Collaboration of the Week: Author:Honoré de Balzac 01:01, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
