The page has been requested of deletion and was wondering if you would care to offer your opinion... that you. H0riz0n 15:05, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering which translation this is as we have one copy and I would like to differiniate them by tranlation.--BirgitteSB 13:40, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You certainly can translate things yourself, I think that is great to have that ability. You might want to check out Wikisource:Translations, and also contribute to the disscussion at Wikisource talk:Translations. I am going to move your page to Tao te Ching (Wikisource translation) in accourdance with our disscusion on that page and link to it at Portal:Religious texts.--BirgitteSB 18:44, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Luthinya thanks for your comment on the I Ching & Tao te Ching, your right it was the Ching that confused me. Sorry for the mistake & thanks for the clarification.
On Lao Tzu/Laozi I'm going to read through the wikipedia debate & our naming policies as I'm not convinced that using the Pinyin naming convention is the best way to go when it differs from a well known name. I'm generally inclined to use the most common name (as we do elsewhere) but I'll read up on it & leave my comments on the talk page. AllanHainey 10:04, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Footnotes[edit]

Hello, I see you created a page called Footnotes. It isn't clear what these are the footnotes for. Please see Help:Footnotes and endnotes. If Footnotes is to be deleted as a page please list it at Wikisource:Proposed deletions. Thanks. AllanHainey 13:47, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some notes about how to do footnotes on the talk page of your Footnotes page. As Allan says, after you have copied the text of this to the bottom of your translation, ask that it be deleted. We will keep an eye open for it. Kind regards. Apwoolrich 18:55, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS[edit]

On Allan's page you ask how we spot new work like this. In my case I am always checking the Recent changes button of the left hand side of the screen, and poke about among what has come in. A document just called Footnotes is bound to raise some interest! Kind regards. Apwoolrich 19:01, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Luthinya, it seems Apwoolrich has already answered both your questions. Hope you get the footnotes sorted out, the details of how to do it were in the link I left. Like Ap I check the Recent changes screen, though probably not as often as he does. It gives an interesting view of what goes into wikisource. It isn't really a work assigned by wikisource, more assigned by ourselves, though admins are expected to do at least a bit of patrolling new additions & edits to check for vandalism & copyright violations.AllanHainey 07:55, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
