Hello Proabivouac, welcome to Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

You'll find an (incomplete) index of our works listed at Wikisource:Works, although for very broad categories like poetry you may wish to look at the categories like Category:Poems instead.

Please take a glance at our help pages (especially Adding texts and Wikisource's style guide). Most questions and discussions about the community are held at the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page! John Vandenberg (chat) 03:41, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Look again[edit]

Try and make sure that you know what you're talking about before reverting and insulting people - it's bad form.Proabivouac (talk) 04:54, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't know what kind of a game you are trying to play. My revert was perfectly acceptable. You, with no previous history in Wikisource, placed nothing more than a meaningless plus sign and a link to a non-existent user page on Wikipedia; it's the kind of thing one would expect from a vandal. Look to yourself before making up lies about being insulted. Eclecticology (talk) 05:16, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I looked at this diff before I welcomed Proabivouac, and there is good reason to believe that Proabivouac has correctly identified another sock. However, there is no need to inflame the situation here further, so Proabivouac should post this to the meta page for more eyes. John Vandenberg (chat) 06:39, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

can we snag you?[edit]

Are there any topical interests you have that we could help you with in order to find your feet here? If nothing else, perhaps you would like to help us clean up the OCR of our Proofread of the Month - fixing a red page should only take a minute or two. If there is another work you would like to see a high fidelity edition of, we'll find it and set up a transcription project. John Vandenberg (chat) 01:46, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lots of other things on my mind these days, but sure, I can help a little on the proofreading. I'll take a look.Proabivouac (talk) 01:57, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. We do footnotes using <ref>..</ref>, and they appear on the bottom of the page automatically, and then are grouped together for each logical grouping of pages, such as On the Vital Principle/Book 1/Prelude to Chapter 3 and On the Vital Principle/Book 1/Prelude to Chapter 5. --John Vandenberg (chat) 02:44, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
When you click edit, near the save button is a yellow checkbox which signifies "Proofread". John Vandenberg (chat) 05:14, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey, thanks very much for the support. :) Pleasant surprise. If you're looking for something to do, I've uploaded some songs where I haven't transcribed the lyrics out separately yet, such as My Wife's Gone To The Country: Hurrah! Hurrah!. Hope to see more of you around. Best wishes, Durova (talk) 04:26, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

No trouble. I'll take a look at the songs in a bit.Proabivouac (talk) 04:39, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank-you spam[edit]

Thank you for supporting me for adminship. :) I'll try to make you glad you did it. So here's a belated Nadezhda "Harry S. Truman" Durova campaign song. All the best, Durova (talk) 05:45, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

ocr[edit]

Hi Proabivouac, I saw you post on John's page. If you make the file available on Commons we should be able to add an ocr'd text layer. Cygnis insignis (talk) 09:49, 28 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
