Welcome[edit]

Hi, TsunamiEssence! Welcome to Wikisource! We thank you for your interest in this project and hope that you enjoy working here. If you have any questions, leave them on my talk page.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 21:14, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Les Mis[edit]

Yes, just adding PG (Project Gutenberg) texts is the best way to go about it. Of course, if you can do some formatting (like adding {{header}}—you can find out documentation on how to use the template here) that would be great, but it's not required. There's a very dedicated group of editors here who will help do tasks you don't know how to do or do not even want to do. So, basically, text dump away!—Zhaladshar (Talk) 21:14, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, you might want to put each chapter on its own page (I noticed there are links to each book of each volume, so on each book's page, adding links to each chapter contained in that book is best). That's a standard procedure taken at Wikisource.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 21:16, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I'll do that. Thanks for the help!TsunamiEssence 21:18, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I decided to leave another message, since I want to try and avoid as much confusion and frustration later on as I can. I've changed some more links on the page of Vol 1, Book 1. I've kept your links as well, so you can compare them. Notice how the links are basically a "/Chapter #" instead of the actual chapter name which you had created (this is Wikisource naming convention which clearly identifies to which work a chapter belongs). The chapter page naming should conform to this convention so that it can clearly be identified that M. Muriel is actually the first chapter of the first book of Volume 1. However, you can (and it's probably best that you do) use piping to display the chapter name instead of just "Chapter #" so that people can actually read the chapter number and the chapter name when they click the link. Thanks!—Zhaladshar (Talk) 21:46, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
One thing you can do is to go ahead and add the {{header}} template to all of the pages, to bring them into conformity with the rest of Wikisource (or to conform them to the style that we're bringing about). You can also add other public domain translations by Victor Hugo (we don't seem to have a whole lot). Maybe fufilling some requests. If you want to add works, browsing through Wikisource:Authors you'll find lots of authors will many red links. You could begin adding them. Or you could help in our effort to bring all of our pages into the {{header}} standard and with our current page naming standards.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 21:43, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Style guide[edit]

Hello TsunamiEssence. I see you are rapidly adding pages; please see the Style guide "Article formatting" section. It is much easier to add the standard {{header}} template when you are adding them in than it is afterwards. Thanks for your contributions. // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 19:43, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
