LESSON IV.

Of God' Relation to us.

THE Lord my Maker I adore,
Created by his love and pow'r.
He faſhion'd in their various form
And all their well rang'd orders ſtand
Supported by his pow'rful hand.

Father of light! Amidſt the ſkies
He bids the golden ſun ariſe!
He ſcatters the refreſhing rain.
To chear the graſs, and ſwell the grain
And ev'ry day preſents the food.
And ſatisfies my mouth with good.

At home, abroad, by night, by day,
He is my guardian, and my ſtay:
And ſure 'tis fit my ſoul ſhould know,
He is my Lord and ſov'reign too.
Oh! may that voice that ſpeaks his law,
My heart to ſweet obedience draw,
That when I ſee the Judge deſcend,
I in that Judge may ſee my friend.
