Cover copyright.[edit]

This is something I disagree with, but I'd like more people to voice their opinions. The style guides say that any page scanned should match the source material as close as reasonably possible. This edition of the book was first published in 1925, yet an editor included a modern cover page here, where I don't believe any such page should go. Does anyone else agree? I agree that a modern cover page should not be used. Besides, the artwork on any modern page would be under copyright. If the preface of a work is modern that is also under copyright. —Maury (talk) 05:20, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Legofan94: And how do you know that the cover is "modern"? Please check the source before raising such objections. This is the original cover from a previous reprint of the same edition. The scan here is the sixth impression, the cover is from the 3rd impression. Edition being the same, there should be no problem. Hrishikes (talk) 18:14, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c) Based on the fonts used on that image, it is not part of the 1925 original edition that PD is claimed for. Publishers of reprints often add their own covers, sometimes with the original cover inset, to match their house style at the time of the reprint. That aside, even if this image is PD in itself, the image does not belong on page /2 of the particular reprint that we are working on. It would also be false to include it as a major image on the mainspace page. It could be added as a right-aligned thumb with a caption "Cover from the 1948 reprint" (or whatever year it was), and the notes field in the header should state the year of this reprint. running header text size/ TOC[edit]

On page 50, the running header remains the same style as all other pages in the source, yet the chapter heading for The Jackal and the War-Drum is set one size larger, despite both lines of text looking the size. Should the running header be enlarged, or remain untouched?

secondly, I don't understand why the black dots for the Table of Contents are unnecessarily large, shouldn't they take a format closer to that of This text? Legofan94 (talk) 17:39, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
