Annals of Winchester College and 50 Treasures from Winchester College (p. 89), give the following info:

• brother of Henry Capell
• son of Lord Capel of Hadeham
• entered Winchester College with brother Henry and cousin Capel Wiseman in 1651
• quit college with brother Henry in 1652
• made a generous donation of £20 to the college, which was used to purchase a copy of the works of Albertus Magnus, and to commission the creation of the Capel Cup.
• Charles Capell died shortly after leaving Winchester
