It turns out Constance is an uncommon name, so the only "Miss Constance Sanderson" (as her name is reported to be recorded in OAW account books) I find in the public records is Constance Albuera Saunderson, born 1833, daughter of Colonel Hardress Robert Saunderson of Northbrook House, Hants., and Lady Maria Ann Saunderson; recorded in 1851 at St. George Hanover Square; on July 3, 1860 (i.e. just after the two account entries as "Miss") married Charles Edward Radclyffe; died March 13, 1915. There are no mentions online of any literary activities by Constance Albuera, and no clues in the two ghost stories which would point to an author, so the only reason for thinking of her as the Once a Week author is by exclusion. @Billinghurst:, do you have any other thoughts? P.S. Whether Constance Albuera Saunderson Radclyffe produced any works of art herself or not, after her death her husband and children commissioned stained glass window in her memory, insipid in subject but very pretty in colors and composition, see here Levana Taylor (talk) 03:48, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
FreeBMD shows zero BMD records for "Constance Sanderson" prior to 1871. For Saunderson I do find

Marriages Sep 1860
Radclyffe Charles Edward St Geo Han Sq 1a 397<
SAUNDERSON Constance Albuera St Geo Han Sq 1a 397.

Birth registration started in July 1837. So it would seem quite reasonable what you propose. I will do a full records check later. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:15, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Levana Taylor: To me it seems perfectly reasonable to identify the writer as this person. Right age demographic, right social status, and their stopping with her marriage, and zero other candidates to choose. Sanderson v Saunderson is neither here nor their for interpretation of handwriting, especially where you would be working with people not working with the primary letter. — billinghurst sDrewth 21:19, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
