Sources[edit]

Research shows that was illustrating for Australian authors from 1897 to 1913. No evidence of birth, death or marriage (search of NSW and Qld). Suspect from works done that living in Queensland or northern New South Wales.

Trove shows advertisements for works illustrated, though no commentary of the person.

Further research tends to indicate that this was a stable illustrator for the publisher Blackie & Co. Earlier works for England and Sumatra. An article in the Manchester News (AFTERNOON CHAT.) Friday, August 1, 1890; Issue 1723 talks about Frances Ewan from Manchester who had just won the Princess of Wales's scholarship in the National Art Competition. That being the case ...
