Work published in 1892 identifies as Principal of Illawarra College, New South Wales. Newspaper and other publications shows that to be the case from mid 1880s through to the mid 1890s.

There is a Maurice Hervey born c. 1856 coming in and out of France to New York, 1896 showing as an Agricultor; in 1929 as a Senator.

Nothing showing anything for births in UK.

His works show that he was living in Australia during the publication of a book, and some of his writing to The Times in the 1890s.
