Uncertainty over the identity of the author

A couple of more possible of the name for Author:William Rees Williams

• Rev. William Rees Williams (1815-1900), Principal of the Carnarvon Training College 185-65, Vicar of Gyffylliog 1874-1900 <- favoured
• his son William Rees Williams, Welsh MD (father of novelist Jean Rhys)

This is troublesome - or perhaps I have brought trouble on myself. At some point I assumed W.R.W. was Author:William Retlaw Williams[1]. I can't recall why, now. The Fenwick book says "Rees". It is possible that I was going on the author list in one of the volumes. I'll consolidate the list on Author:William Rees Williams for the moment. Charles Matthews (talk) 11:37, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

We started with the 1920+ combined list, which we have now amended and added to, though at some point we do need to audit against the individual volumes. Otherwise <shrug>. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:51, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

It is really quite unlikely to be the son, who according to a biography of Jean Rhys went to the West Indies in 1881. It seems quite likely to be the father; he is in the Venn database [2]. Charles Matthews (talk) 12:32, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
