It is often the case that plates are borrowed from copies of library's books, when that happens I borrow one from another copy at IA or elswhere. The pagination is currently correct, and I see no value in 'repairing' a file to include something missing in the scan. Reply this time? Cygnis insignis (talk) 15:05, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

Treat side by side columns of ruby text as sidenotes or margin notes?[edit]
Some pages like 119 and 134 have pieces of text set apart from the main flow of text that aren't footnotes. Should we treat them as sidenotes, margin notes or some other kind of text?
In each example, one column of text is given in Chinese characters and the other column is those characters' pronunciation spelled out in the Roman alphabet. So using some sort of ruby template would be appropriate, but English Wikisource's ruby template at the moment only expects ruby text above and not to the side of the base text. I'm not sure that even Japanese Wikisource's ruby template can handle horizontal ruby text placed to the side.
I've provisionally marked up the text on page 134 using English Wikisource's ruby template just to get the ball rolling. Lovelano (talk) 17:03, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
