Merging with previous transcription

User:Rumpelstilzchen began transcribing this text several years ago. Their text is an excellent basis for this transcription, but the following modifications must be made to restore Skeat's notational conventions:

• Replace ⁊ with and
• Replace · (middot) with . (period)
• Replace Ƿ with W, and ƿ with w
• Replace  (MUFI character ) with þ''æ''t
• Replace ā with a''m'', ⁠ ū with u''m'', etc. (Note, the overline may sometimes be used to replace characters other than m)
• There are probably others also; a full proofread is still necessary.
• Also, line numbers need to be redone in accordance with the source scan; see #Style guide above.

Once proofreading is done, this text will become the primary copy of Skeat's edition, and User:Rumpelstilzchen's text will become either (a) a user-annotated version of Skeat's edition, or (b) the primary copy of the original manuscript Cotton MS Julius E VII (which can be proofread against a scan of the MS when one becomes available, e.g. by converting this scan into DJVU or PDF format).
