מקבלנותא f. (preced.) taking in, winning. Targ. Prov. XI, 30 חכמתא דנפשי מ׳ (ed. Lag. נפשיה מקבלנא) (the art of) winning souls is wisdom (ag. a winner of souls is wisdom; h. text חכם נפשות לקח).

מקדין, v. מקרין I. מקדש, an abbreviation for מחשבה, קצת, דם and שלישי, wrong ntention at slaughteringa sacrifice, iillegality concerning one partt of a sacrifice, the egal efect of the sprinkling of the blood, and the occurrence of the word s'lishi (third) in both laws under discussion. Zeb. 28b.

מקוה m. (b. h.; קוה) gathering of water, esp. the ritual bath of purification. Yoma VIII, 9 (play on מקוה hope, Jer. XVII, 13) וכ׳ מטהר מ׳ מה as the bath purifies the unclean, so does the Lord &c. Ib. 31a ארבעים מ׳ מי סאה the contents of a ritual bath must be forty S'ah; Num. R. s. 18. Mikv. I, 7 וכ׳ למ׳ שוה has the qualification of a ritual mikveh when gathered in a pond, contrad. to מין; a. v. fr. -- Trnsf. means of purifcation.
