Little Folks in 1902. These illustrations were worked over and re-dated 1905. The 1902 illustrations were only tinted, but these are in full colour. “Stories of King Arthur” was reprinted separately in a small book in 1910, with the same illustrations, and published by Cassell.

Bound in vellum with gold pictorial stamping and lettering on the cover and gold lettering on the spine; gilt top. 57 numbered pages of printed matter and fifty-one full-page illustrations in colour mounted on brown paper. Size of page 8¾×11. This edition is limited to 250 copies, numbered and signed by the artist. Yellow silk ties.

There is trade edition bound in green cloth with the same pictorial stamping in gold and gold lettering, with fifty-one full page illustrations mounted on green paper. 57 numbered pages, 7¼×9¾.

American Edition: Bound in the same green cloth as the English edition and with the same number of pages, the same mounted illustrations and the same size. Published by Doubleday, Page & Co., New York. 1905.

French Edition: RIP VAN WINKLE/PAR/WASHINGTON IRVING/ILLUSTRÉ PAR/ARTHUR RACKHAM/PARIS: HATCHETTE ET CIE/1906. “Cette édition de luxe tirée sur papier Whatman est limitée à Deux Cents Exemplaires mumerotés de 1 à 200.” (not signed). The French copy that we have is bound in green cloth, three-quarters green leather with gold lettering on the spine; but as most of the French edition were originally bound in wrappers, it is probable that this copy was especially bound. Fifty-one full-page illustrations mounted on green paper, and there is a white edge of ⅛″ around each coloured plate. 69 pages of printed matter, 8¾×11. Printed in England by Richard Clay & Son, Ltd.
