CAPUT VI

Ðys godspel sceal on mydlenctenes sunnandæg.

1. Æfter þyson fōr sē Hǣlend ofer þā Galileiscan sǣ, sēo is Tiberiadis.[1]

2. And him fylide mycel folc, for þām þe hig gesāwon þā tācna þe hē worhte on þām þe wǣron geuntrumode.[2]

3. Witodlīce sē Hǣlend āstāh on ānne munt, and sæt þār mid his leorningcnihton.[3]

4. Hit was gehende ēastron, Iudea frēolsdæge.

5. Đā sē Hǣlend his ēagan ūp āhōf and geseah þæt micel folc cōm tō him, hē cwæð tō Philippe, Hwǣr bicge wē hlāfas þæt þās eton?[4]

6. Þæt hē cwæþ his fandigende; hē wiste hwæt hē dōn wolde.[5]

7. Đā andwurde him Philippus and cwæð, Nabbað hī genōh on twēgera hundred penega wurþe hlāfes, þæt ǣlc sumne dǣl nyme.[6]

8. Đā andwyrde him ān his leorningcnihta, Andreas, Simones brōþur Petres,[7]
