An Act for the Prefervation of Pheafants and Partridges. Spoil and Hurt of Corn and Grafs then standing and growing II. For Reformation thereof, Be it enacted, eftablifhed and ordained by the Queen our Sovereign Lady, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the Commons, in this prefent Parliament aflembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That no Manner of Perfon or Perfon-;, of what Eftate, Degree or Condition fo-ThcPo ever, (hall at any Time or Times, from and after the firft Day of April next enfuing, take, kill or deltroy ' , ' I any Pheafants or Partridges with any Manner of Nets, Snares, Gins, Engines, Rowfting, Lpwifing or Bmiim'jn' other Devices whatfoever, in the Night-time ; (2) upon Pain of Forfeiture for every Pheafant fo taken, th- I killed or deftroyed, contrary to the true A^eaning of this Adr, the Sum of twenty Shillings ; (3) and for every 11 H 7. c 17. Provided always, That if fuch Perfon to whom the one Half of the faid Forfeiture is appointed for the taking, killing or deftroying of Partridges or Pheafants, contrary to the Tenor and true Meaning of this Act, fhall difpenfe with, licence or procure any taking, killing or deftroying of any Partridges or Phea- fants, contrary to the Form of this Act ; that then all fuch Forfeitures and Penalties as fuch Perfon or Per- fons (hould have by Virtue of this Act, fhall be to the Poor of the Parrfh where fuch taking, killing or deltroying fhall be committed, and that to be levied or recovered in Manner and Form aforetaid, by any one of the Church -wardens of the Parifh where the Offences fhall be committed. IV.
