And be It enaiEled, That if any Perfon or Perfons, who fhall print, paint, ftain, or dye ficcr to I'oricit any the Goods aforefaid, fhall obftruiSl or hinier any the faid Officers in the Exc-cution of the Powers given '*° by this Act, for afcertaining and fecuring the Duties th.reupon, the Offenders therein, for every fuch Of- fence, ftiall forfeit the Sum of twenty Founds. Printers not to LXXIX. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforcfaid. That no Perfon or Perfons, who fliall removethe Silk, print, paint, i'cain, or dye, any Silks, Collicoes, Linens, or Stuffs, chargeable with the faid Duties by this hastal'e Ac' ^^^ fhali eTtiove, carry, or fend away, or fuffcr to be removed, carried, or fent away, any the Silks, count thereof, or ^^'^f'-Si Linens, or Stuffs, by him, her, or them printed, painted, ftained, or dyed refpediively, until before maiking, fuch Time as the proper Officer Qiall have taken an Account of every particular Quantity of fuch Goods fo on Forfeiture uf to be carried away, and until every particular Piece and Parcel, or Remnant of fuch Goods, be duly mark- 2q1. &p. gd with a Stamp or Seal, denoting the charging of the Duty, as this AS: diredis, upon Pain of forfeiting the Sum of twenty Pounds for eveiy fuch Offence ; and that all the printed, painted, flained, or dyed Silks, See 5 Geo. 7. Callicoes, Linen, and Stuffs, fo carried av/ay, without being marked with a Stamp or Seal, denoting the c, II. §. 15. charging of the faid Duties, and being found in the Poffeflion of any Draper, or other Trader or Dealer therein, or any Perfon for the Ufe cf fuch Draper, Trader, or Dealer, for Sale, fhall and may be feized, or the Value thereof fhall and may be recovered, to wit, one Moiety thereof for the Ufe of her Majefly, and the other Moiety to the Ufe of the Seizor, or Informer. Receipts gratis, LXXX. And it is hereby ordained and enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That upon Payment of the faid Duties for any Qtiantity of the faitl printed, painted, ftained, or dyed Goods, the Receiver or Col- leftor fliall give a R.eceipt for the f ime gratis. .Silk not furvey. LXXXI. And it IS hereby further cnafled. That all and every the faid Printers, Painters, Stainers, and eJ, to be kept Dyers of the faid Silks, Callicoes, Linens, and fuch Stuffs, r.s aforefaid, fhall, .from time to time, keep fcparate on Hain j-^ ^luch of the fame Goods as fhall not have been fur'eyed and taken an Account of by the proper Ofii- ^ ■ cers, feparate and apart from all others of the fame Kinds, which fhall have been furvcyed and taken au Account of by fuch OfBcers, on Pain to forfeit, for every Offence therein, the Sum of five Pounds. LXXXIL And be it further enafied. That if any of the f.iid Printers, Painters, Stainers, or Dyers, fliall fraudulently hide or conceal, or caufe to be hid or concealed, any Silk,' Callico, Linen, or Stuffs, before or after the fame are printed, painted, flained, or dyed, with Intent to deceive lier Majefly of her juft Duties by this A£t granted, then, and in every fuch Cafe, the Party fo offending fhall forfeit the Sum of twenty Pounds for every fuch Offence ; and all the Silks, Callicoes, Linens, and Stuffs, which fhall be found in any private Work-houfe, or other Place, whereof no Notice fhall have been given, as aforefaid, or the Value thereof, fhall and may be feized and recovered, to wit, one Moiety thereof, to the Ufe of her Majcfty, and the other Moiety to the Ufe of the Seizor, or Informer, as aforefaid. And be it enafted, That all the Utenfds and Inftrurnents for the printing, painting, ftaining, frintir,£ Silks, qj- Jyiiig of any fuch Goods, as aforefaid, in the Cuftody of any Tuch Printer, Painter, Stainer, or Dyer, f itli'th^D^ as aforefaid, or of any Perfon or Perfons, to the Ufe of or in TrufI for them, or any of them, fhall be ties in Arrcar. h'able to, and arehcicby made chargeable with all the Debts and Duties in Arrear and owing by fuch Printer, Painter, Stainer, or Dyer, for any fuch Silks, Callicoes, Linens, or Stuffs, printed, painted, flained, or dyed by him, her, and them, or in his, her, or their Work-houfes or Places aforefaid ; and fhall be alfo fubject to all Penalties and Forfeitures incurred by fuch Perfon or Perfons fo ufmg fuch Work- houfe, or other Place, for any Offence againff this Aifl, relating to the Duties of fuch printed, painted, flained, or dyed Goods ; and it fhall and may be lawful in all fuch Cafes, to levy Debts and Penalties, and ufe fuch Proceedings as may lawfully be done by this Aft, in relation to fuch Goods, in cafe the Debtor or Offender were the true and lawful Owner of the fame. ' LXXX'.V. And whereas feveral Printers, Painters, Stainers, and Dyers, and alfo feveral Merchants,

  • Drapers, Mercers, Upholders, and other Traders and Dealers, have or may have, on the twentieth Day

' of July one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, for Sale either by Wholefale or Retail,' feveral Stocks ' or Qiiantities of fuch chequered and ftriped Linens, and painted, ftained, and dyed Linens, as aforefaid,

  • which have been imported into Great Britain, and feveral Stocks and Quantities of fuch Silks, Callicoes,

' Linens, and Stuffs, as aforefaid, which have been printed, painted-, ftained, or dyed, as aforefaid, in Stock in Hand ' GvMt Britain ;' Be it further enafrcd by tb.e Authority aforefaid, That all and every fuch Printei's, Pain- «n so July to xts, Stainers, Dyers, Drapers, Mercers, Upholdei's, Traders, and Dealers refpeclively, having on the Pfirtoi'tli-thitv fs'd twentieth Day oi July one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, in his, her, or their Cuflody or Pof- fefKon, or in the fcuflody or Poffeffion of any other Perfon or Perfons, for his, her, or their Ufe, Benefit, or Account, any Stock or Qiiantity of fuch chequered or ftriped Linens, or of fuch printed, painted, ft-ain- ed, or dyed Silks, Callicoes, Linens, or fuch Stuffs, as aforcfaid, being for Sale either by Wholefale or by Pvetail, ihall yield and pay to her Ps/Iajefty for the fame, fo much Money as one Half Part of the Rates and Duties by this A£t impofed on the like refpcflive Commodities after the Commencement of this Ac>, ftiall amount unto ; the faid Half Part for the faid Stocks, to be paid within three Months- after the faid twen- •tieth Day of y?//); one thoufand kven hundred and twelve. j4 Particular of LXXXV.
