Sec. 9. Regulatory Provisions.

a. Proof of selling Iron-Fortified Rice or all stores and food service establishments in the Municipality of Urbiztondo is a requirement for application or renewal of the business license by the Local Government Unit.

b. The Iron-Fortified Rice to be sold, produced or distributed in the municipality shall conform to the standards formulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Sec. 10. LGU Monitoring Role. Pursuant to Section 6 of the IRR of RA 8976, the LGU shall assist in the monitoring of Iron-Fortified Rice in rice millers, public markets, retail stores and food service establishments. It shall designate only one set from the following officials to conduct the monitoring or checking function:

a. Health Officer; or

b. Agricultural Officer; or

c. Nutritionist-Dieticians; or

d. Sanitary Inspectors.

ARTICLE IV

Creation of Task Force and Its Role

Sec. 11. Creation of Municipal Task Force (MTF).

a. There shall be created a Municipal Task Force to be composed of the following:

i. Chairperson - Municipal Mayor

ii. Co-Chairperson - Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO)

iii. Vice Chairperson - Chairman, Committee on Agriculture & Committee on Health and Social Welfare

iv. Members - Municipal Health Office

- Municipal Agriculture Office

- Mun. Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO)

- Representative of DepEd (to monitor school canteens)

b. Functions of the Municipal Task Force. The Task Force shall:

i. Monitor the compliance of Section 6 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A. No. 8976;

ii. Monitor the compliance Section 5 and 6 of this Ordinance. As such it shall conduct random inspection on the quality of Iron-Fortified Rice sold in the public markets, retail stores and food service establishments. It shall likewise check if the labels and fortified food products contain nutrition facts stating the nutrient added its quality;

iii. Formulate and submit Guidelines for the Annual Search of the Most Outstanding Implementation of this Ordinance;

iv. Submit reports and make recommendations to the Local Government and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer;
