I could not find reference in this work to the symbols used in this poem, and was wondering if you had any insight/direction as to what they are for, and how I should account for them in transcription (other websites use an apostrophe). These are caesurae (sing. caesura). There are some special glyphs in music for the various types. For printed texts I usually use the vertical bar character (|). However, the prime (′) character would be an acceptable alternative, but definitely not an apostrophe. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 05:20, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
