{{help me}} The Additional text in pages 255, 256 and 257 appears to be continuous. Can someone help how to combine them and fix me to one page 255. Thank you.--Rajasekhar1961 (talk) 05:27, 18 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Rajasekhar1961: Footnotes that span multiple pages may be combined on transclusion by giving the first ref tag a |name= parameter, and the following ones a |follow= parameter that refers back to the name given in the first page. For example:
  • Page 255: <ref name="p255"></ref>
  • Page 256: <ref follow="p255"></ref>
  • Page 257: <ref follow="p255"></ref>
It doesn't really matter where on the following pages you place the ref tag, but I usually place it at the very end of the page without any whitespace in front.
When the pages are transcluded into mainspace, Mediawiki will combine all three ref tags into one footnote. --Xover (talk) 07:30, 18 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Xover: Can you so me in one page as an example. Thank you.--Rajasekhar1961 (talk) 07:50, 18 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Rajasekhar1961: I have edited the three pages to illustrate how to do it. I have also set up a demo in a sandbox so you can see how Mediawiki will handle it when the pages are transcluded. You can see it here: link to demo. --Xover (talk) 08:11, 18 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
