@user:EncycloPetey what is the advantage of using a template when a link is self descriptive and can be cut and pasted from the dab page? -- PBS (talk) 18:13, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- @PBS: We prefer the bibliographic information to bare links because it provides more information and a consistent format for listed items. It also ensures that the article title appears at the front of the entry, instead of somewhere in the middle. This is the established format decided by the community, and is the reason we have these templates. --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:41, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
