Proprietary software[edit]

I understand that this was originally an internally-oriented commucation, and I'm happy to see it here on Wikisource, but I find it quite disappointing that this space was used to provide free advertising to proprietary software by for-profit enterprises. Nemo 13:55, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Nemo bis: Do you mean the link on the source document to G****e Docs? I don't think this is a reasonable standard, considering that we routinely post links for source materials to G****e Books, JS**R, and other sites that have policies and business practices that are not easily squared with wiki values. We live in a world in which things are published on sites we don't love. Wikisource exists to give readers free access to stuff and information about that stuff. In order to properly provide that information, sometimes we have to link to sites that we don't love. What would you propose as a better approach? -Pete (talk) 17:50, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

License[edit]

@Pigsonthewing: Since it isn't obvious, could you explain why this is CC0 just so it's documented for the future? Thanks. Kaldari (talk) 14:53, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind. I see it's in the original Google Doc (although it wasn't in the actual email that was sent out). Kaldari (talk) 14:55, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
