That had me stumped. There doesn't appear to be problem with wrapping the lot in a centred block (float), but I have seen it cause display issues.

Is greyscale being avoided?

There is an issue with not using dropinitial (not without its own problems), an effect on the second line. Bogging up the first or longest line with gap[!] stops the unwanted line wrap, making the container behave over several pages. Sorry to be fussy, but I can add any of the above as I read it; also happy to ignore it and wrestle with what the genius is blathering about instead. cygnis insignis 14:49, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

I noticed the issues with initials, but wasn't sure what to do about them, and just wanted to keep moving. Feel free to fix whatever you want. Or just demonstrate it for me, and I'll roll it out.

I couldn't be bothered cleaning up the images properly at the time; again: I just wanted to keep moving. Whether I will get around to cleaning them up in the next few days is far less doubtful now that you've queried me about it! :-) Hesperian 23:24, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

It scars my eyes to see otherwise :P I used two[!] float-left templates to get the quote mark aligned; interestingly, this happens to 'correct' the line spacing issue after the incipit. Then I wondered if the solution to a robust drop-initial could be realised … I might find pursuing that more enjoyable than fathoming what Pound was banging on about. cygnis insignis 13:10, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

I saw that! Was impressed. It doesn't work if you float the image left using the standard |left| image syntax. It never occurred to me to try it that way.

Heh, I don't think I'll be reading any more Pound. I took this text on because a friend recommended Pound to me. I'll be going back to him and telling him that I engaged with some Pound in good faith, and it was not for me. ;-) Hesperian 14:14, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
