How to subdivide?

[edit]

Each poet gets a biographical introduction, followed by several poems. I began by creating a section for Frances Fuller Barritt, which includes both the intro and the poems; but on second thought, I wonder if this should be further subdivided. In her case, we know from the table of contents that the bio was written by her (soon-to-be double!) brother in law, Orville James Victor; but it's not stated on the bio page at all. So I'd like to put his name in the header, as the contributor.

Overall, might it not make more sense to have one Wikisource page for the bio, and another for the poems, for each poet in this work? Or, possibly, one for the bio, and one for each poem? What's best? @Londonjackbooks:, this relates to our discussion this morning...any ideas? -Pete (talk) 16:11, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think as you currently have is most straightforward (and appreciated by readers, esp. mobile). I will try to find examples at WS (with or without bios). Londonjackbooks (talk) 16:22, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and I think it is appropriate to place Orville's name in the header as contributor. Londonjackbooks (talk) 16:27, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Peteforsyth: Examples without bios: The year's at the spring, Soldier poets, songs of the fighting men Londonjackbooks (talk) 16:57, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Can't find poetry collection examples with bios. Londonjackbooks (talk) 17:09, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
OK, that sounds good. Thanks for looking. -Pete (talk) 17:30, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
(ec) @Peteforsyth: Sorry for pinging you again, but... Also, I am thinking that before any more pages of Index:The Poets and Poetry of the West.djvu are proofread, the pagelist should be created... in case there are any missing pages, etc., and things have to be moved around. Good point...I wasn't planning on doing others (except possibly Metta), but you're right, it's better not to leave a possible mess for somebody else to deal with. I made a pagelist and it looks fine. -Pete (talk) 17:47, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

In this edit summary, how do you mean? Were you going to make it two column? Feel free, I didn't realize. We had center block templates starting on the first page that weren't working, so I was mindlessly fixing it :) -Pete (talk) 18:05, 15 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
