What Things Can Be Sent on a Holiday |
דין איזה דברים מתרים לשלח ביום טוב |

Paragraph 1 - One is permitted to send his friend game, an animal or a chicken, even living ones, or wines, oils, flours, and legumes, but not produce because that needs to be ground, which is a forbidden labor on a holiday. |
סעיף א - מתר לשלח לחברו ביום טוב בהמה חיה ועוף, ואפלו חיים, ויינות שמנים וסלתות וקטניות, אבל לא תבואה, לפי שמחסרת טחינה, שהיא מלאכה האסורה ביום טוב. |

Paragraph 2 - When it is permitted to send something on a holiday, one should not send it in a line, meaning three or more men in a line carrying one type of thing. If each one carries something different, it is permitted. |
סעיף ב - כל דבר שמתר לשלח יום טוב לא ישלחנו בשורה, דהינו ג' בני אדם או יותר זה אחר זה נושאים כלם מין אחד, אבל אם כל אחד נושא מין אחר, מתר. |

Paragraph 3 - We send clothes, even if not stitched up, because they can be leaned on, even if they are made of a forbidden mixture, as long as they are tough. We send tefillin because it can be worn on a weekday. Rem"a: And anything similar can be sent, even through the public domain (Beit Yosef). |
סעיף ג - משלחים כלים אף על פי שאינם תפורים, שהם ראויים לשען עליהם, ואפלו יש בהם כלאים, אם הם קשים. ומשלחין תפלין, כיון שראויים להניחם בחל. הגה: וכל כיוצא בזה אפלו דרך רשות הרבים מתר לשלחן (בית יוסף). |
