To do before implementation[edit]

Before the new main page can be implemented, a few things need to be created or improved.

Portals: The current portals are disorganised, incomplete, and confusing. If we map them in the Index and include a visible link to the more complete categories, they will be much more useful to the reader.
Featured text: There is no structure for featured texts yet. ~~We need some sort of procedure for it, and~~ we need to get a few candidates ready.
Modularisation: Some sections should be transcluded from templates, particularly the Featured text section. done
