- It could work different for IP edits. I have seen no way to change the status, but maybe there is something I am not seeing. 71.233.62.241 16:43, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
- You were right. I tried logging out and proofreading, and the status buttons were not there. I'll mark your previous edits as proofread, and there are two things you could do:
- a) You could make an account.
- b) You could, after proofreading, turn off JavaScript and change the page status manually. [I don't know much about this option.]
- I'll also drop a line at the Scriptorium or the admins' noticeboard. Try contacting this IP. They were able to change the status of a page, I don't know how. —Clockery Fairfeld (talk) 10:12, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- It seems that IP users can change the status from Not Proofread to Proofread, but not to Validated. You could make an account, as I suggested earlier. We could always use an extra pair of hands to help. ;) Or you could continue doing it the same way. Either way, it's your choice. —Clockery Fairfeld (talk) 07:25, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

- I will try changing the proofread status with JavaScript off. I think I tried before, but I tried to use an account name. I will try it just with the null account it uses when I create pages as an IP user. Thanks for your suggestions. 71.233.62.241 22:04, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
- I noticed when I create a page now it uses the IP address for my user name. I think the previous time I created a page, it just left the user name blank. Anyway, when I tried to change the status (from 1 to 3) I got an error message like before saying I needed to be logged in, so I will go back to using JavaScript which provides some helpful services. 71.233.62.241 22:18, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
